20 years ago, Sam Harris was a central gurus of the new atheists; a NYT-bestselling figurehead that would lead us into a glorious future without God.
His name was synonymous with other big atheists like Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens. There were book and speaking tours, interviews galore, and an air of both celebrity and inevitability.
In recent years, Harris has gone viral for a different reason. Stewing in the soup of Trump Derangement Syndrome, his brain has been reduced to laughable takes like this 👇
There's no party left of center - real party - for political assassination. And yet right of center, very prominent people from the president to Elon down treated it [Kirk's assassination] like the first shot fired in the civil war. Totally irresponsible, dishonest. These people were arsonists pretending to be firefighters.
The problem is people's reaction to their friend being killed??
I guess Harris has never heard of, say, the Left's breathless worship of charged assassin Luigi Mangione?
