Attendees at UK furry convention warned not to harass other "species," promote pedophilia or bestiality

Let's check in on Scotland, shall we?

This is Scotiacon, a furry convention in Scotland, and not only are you warned against discriminating based on species, attendees are warned against promoting bestiality and child porn.

Gonna state the obvious here: If you're at an event which has to warn attendees against promoting pedophilia or bestiality, you might be at the wrong event.

Let's start with the code of conduct when it comes to harassment based on race, gender, sexuality, aaaaaand species. Not joking.

Harassment of any kind is not tolerated at Scotiacon and will result in sanctions under our unacceptable behaviour policy. This includes, but is not limited to general characteristics such as race, gender, or sexuality, or fandom specific characteristics such as the maker of an individual's fursuit or the species of someone's fursona.

It gets worse.

Guests are also warned against exhibiting artworks depicting paedophilia, described as ‘cub porn', or humans having sex with animals.

The organisers said: ‘We are aware that this is a difficult rule since the actual age of drawn characters is open to interpretation, especially where they are in a cartoon style.

‘Appearances count. Characters with a very childlike appearance and/or baby face may be considered children in the context of this rule.'

So, uhh, no child porn. I imagine that's gonna be a hard one for these peeps.

The code of conduct for artworks also states: ‘No zoophilia and/or bestiality involving humans or largely human-like characters (eg anime catgirls, elves or centaurs) with animals or largely non-morphic characters (four-legged) is allowed.

‘Other species-transcending sexual activity (eg anthros and humans) is generally allowed.

‘Toilet-related activities are highly discouraged. This includes scat, watersports, adult diapers in use, and vomit. We do not entirely exclude this content but only seek to accept items with very mild depictions which would be suitable for a general viewing public.'

Well, now I know a little more about furries than I'm comfortable with.

Hard to believe that people who dress up as animals and have anonymous sex could end up being perverts.
