Report: Multiple House Democrats won't commit to certifying a Trump victory
· Oct 11, 2024 · NottheBee.com

We've already told you that Jamie Raskin was making plans to protest a Trump victory in congress if the Orange Man wins.

Turns out — and this will shock you — he's not alone.

This is the same thing that Republicans in Congress were called "insurrectionists" for. The party that's running on "saving our Democracy" actually only cares about democracy if they're the winners, so they're now saying they won't certify a Trump victory.

The reason? They just can't imagine a world where Trump won fair and square.

Raskin, the House Oversight Committee ranking member and former Jan. 6 committee member who objected to Trump electors in 2017, told Axios in an interview that if Trump 'won a free, fair and honest election, then we would obviously accept it.'

  • However, Raskin said he 'definitely' doesn't assume that Trump would use free, fair and honest means to secure a victory.

Yeah, he'll certify the election IF it's legit.

But he doesn't think a legit Trump victory is even possible! So, no, he won't certify it.

And there are plenty more Democrats with the same outlook:

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.), a senior chief deputy whip who voted to object to George W. Bush electors in 2005, said of Trump, 'I don't know what kind of shenanigans he is planning,' adding: 'We would have to, in any election ... make sure that all the rules have been followed.'

...

House Rules Committee Ranking Member Jim McGovern (D-Mass.), who also objected to Trump electors in 2017, said Democrats would certify a Trump victory 'assuming everything goes the way we expect it to.'

  • 'We have to see how it all happens,' McGovern told Axios - though he added, 'My expectation is that we would.'

Did somebody say "rigged election"?????

You know, there's punishments for that (well, if you're a Republican).

Ladies and gentlemen, they're already planting the seeds of what they once called "election denial" and "insurrection" — "a threat to democracy." They'll find a way to make a Trump victory invalid. They always do.

Democrats have rarely allowed a Republican to take office without some sort of protest, so don't expect things to change in 2024.

In fact, expect the Dems to get drastically more radical in their election denial.
