Crazy New Gallup Poll Shows That Political Party Preferences Have Completely Flipped During 2021
· Jan 17, 2022 · NottheBee.com

Just how bad has Joe Biden's first year gone?

Well, the popularity of the Democrat and Republican parties have completely flipped in just one year from Democrats +9 to Republicans +5.

This according to Gallup, so you know it's bad.

These numbers are absolutely brutal for the Democrats as we head into the 2022 midterm elections.

This is a 15 point swing in just a year. It's nearly unheard of.

After Trump gave the Republican Party a very negative public face, just one year of the awful Biden Administration and their terrible policies have made people forget all about Trump.

At the beginning of 2021, 49% of people leaned or were solidly Democrat, and 40% leaned or were solid Republican. In 12 months, things have switched to Democrats 42% and Republicans 47%.

Democrats have not been 5 points down since 1995!

Shifting party preferences in 2021 are likely tied to changes in popularity of the two men who served as president during the year. Republican Donald Trump finished out his single term in January, after being defeated in the 2020 election, with a 34% job approval rating, the lowest of his term.

Once again, this is Gallup, so they had to throw in a dig at Trump. Since we've learned how polls skew left in recent years, it makes you wonder if the numbers aren't much, much worse for Democrats.

His popularity fell more than 10 points from Election Day 2020 as the country's COVID-19 infections and deaths reached then-record highs, he refused to acknowledge the result of the election, and his supporters rioted at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, in an attempt to prevent Congress from counting the 2020 Electoral College votes.

As for Supreme Leader Joe:

Democrat Joe Biden enjoyed relatively high ratings after taking office on Jan. 20, and his approval stayed high through the early summer as COVID-19 infections dramatically decreased after millions of Americans got vaccinated against the disease. A summer surge of infections tied to the delta variant of the coronavirus made it clear the pandemic was not over in the U.S., and Biden's approval ratings began to sag. Later, the chaotic U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan caused Biden's ratings to fall further, into the low 40s. His ratings remain low as the U.S. battles rising inflation and yet another surge of COVID-19 infections, tied to the omicron variant of the virus.

Gotta love how Gallup tries really hard to connect his unpopularity to Covid and not his senile incompetence, 50-year record of being wrong on everything, life-long sleaziness, mandates, and executive orders that have directly caused inflation.

Joe Biden is so bad at his job that it's caused a 15 point swing in popularity between the two parties, and the Republicans are more popular now, compared to the opposition, than they have been in more than 25 years.

Can you say, "red wave"?

It just goes to show how, if you just give Democrats enough rope, they will hang themselves. At least on the national level.

It also, in my opinion, shows that Trump, as many great things as he did, was an anchor around the neck of the party.

Regardless, the Dems better hold onto their hats in November!
