Well, if you thought Florida man couldn't get any more insane, just wait till you see what this Florida man and wife decided was good parenting.

Yes, police say that they've arrested a Florida couple who dropped off their child on the side of the road with a sack of guns and said, "You're on your own!"

Here's the DailyMail:

The parents, Bradley Leon Guerrero Santos, 36, and Rosanella Mendiola Borja, 35, are facing child neglect charges.

Police in North Port, a city near Sarasota, received a 911 call on the evening of October 1 about 'a suspicious male' who was walking south on the northbound side on Interstate-75, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Police rolled up on the teen who identified his parents. He then told the cops that he came home from school when his parents told him they were going to "take a trip" that afternoon.

The trip wasn't actually just a trip.

After he walked the family dog, he saw them 'frantically throwing clothes into two duffel bags' before rushing the him and his eight-year-old sibling into the car, the affidavit said.

Once the teenager was told that their destination was 'either Guam or Idaho', he said he didn't want to go, police said.

Idaho or Guam!

I mean, those are certainly diverse options. But they didn't sit well with the teen. So his parents decided if he didn't want to come with them, he didn't have to.

This is when they allegedly dumped him on the side of the road. But they weren't callous enough to leave the young man unarmed. They gave him two pistols in a bag and some cash.

From WWSB:

North Port Police spokesman Josh Taylor said the discovery of guns was concerning ...

Taylor adds that the behavior of the adults was cause for concern, 'The report indicates that the child was handed these bags and told, "You are the chosen one... good luck," so that's odd.'

When police found the kid walking on the side of I-75, they called the parents, who wouldn't speak to them over the phone. However, police were able to trace their location and arrest the couple who were fleeing the state.

Authorities traced Santos's phone to the address of a senior citizen center in Wauchula, Florida. It was roughly an hour northwest of their home in North Port, according to police.

Both parents were arrested without incident in the parking lot of the center and have been in custody ever since.

Santos and Borja were charged with child neglect without great harm. Santos was hit with the additional charge of permitting a minor to possess a firearm.

I guess they don't allow this kind of stuff in Florida.
