Sure, you can accept your lot in life. Take your bowl of food, your ration of water, and spend your days wandering around your thousand-square-foot pen. Maybe even count yourself lucky to have that much.

After all, you're not the biggest dog there. Maybe best to keep your head down. Don't make waves. If you're really good, there's always the possibility that someone will give you an extra biscuit every now and then.

But, no. Not this dog. Not today.

What if you just aren't "that" dog? There is no shame in that. Not everyone can be a leader, and battles are not won by leaders alone. They need soldiers, the ones willing to show the others that they, too, can do the once unthinkable.

You bide your time. You watch. You learn.

Then, when the time is right, you act!
