One of the most well-known and well-loved Southern Baptist pastors in our lifetime, Charles Stanley, has passed away at the age of 90.

Charles Stanley was pastor of First Baptist Atlanta for nearly 50 years and created In Touch Ministries, where his sermons were watched and broadcast globally for decades.

Stanley also wrote more than 60 books as one of the most prolific and widely-read Christian writers in the last 40 years.

Stanley was twice-elected president of the Southern Baptist Convention in the 1980s during the denomination's conservative resurgence. He retired in 2020 after almost 50 years of preaching.
