President Biden has been wrong on every foreign policy measure in 50 years, his last military action was to hand Afghanistan to terrorists, and he's struggling with historic disapproval ratings...
But darn it all if he doesn't want to appease the war hawks who want a new opportunity to waste trillions of dollars blowing Ukraine to smithereens!
Democrat President Joe Biden is considering deploying U.S. forces to Eastern Europe as Russia is reportedly preparing to invade Ukraine at any moment.
Biden is considering the deployment of "several thousand U.S. troops, as well as warships and aircraft, to NATO allies in the Baltics and Eastern Europe, an expansion of American military involvement amid mounting fears of a Russian incursion into Ukraine," The New York Times reported. "The move would signal a major pivot for the Biden administration, which up until recently was taking a restrained stance on Ukraine, out of fear of provoking Russia into invading."
Pentagon officials have advised Biden on sending up to 5,000 troops to the region, with a plan to increase that "tenfold if things deteriorate."
So that's great.
Let me remind you that the vast, vast majority of Americans do not want another war, and certainly not a war in Ukraine. A recent poll showed only 15% of Americans want troops on the ground.
This is not a popular direction Biden is heading.
At all.
It might have made sense to use troops six months ago as a deterrent for Russian aggression. If Biden had also been strong enough (not to mention mentally aware enough) to warn Putin of the consequences of war, this might not be happening. If the Democrats didn't block new sanctions against Russia this month, that might have helped as well.
But ordering the evacuation of the embassy while sending troops at the 11th hour??
Then again, you've got to feel sorry for the guy.
Think of all the personal affairs he has in Ukraine!
What's "The Big Guy" going to do if Russia destroys or conquers all his business interests?? And how will Hunter Biden afford high-end drugs without a cushy job on the board of Burisma??
Former Secretary of State and CIA Director Mike Pompeo said on Sunday that Putin was becoming increasingly aggressive because he views Biden as weak and not credible.
When asked if the situation with Russia amassing troops near Ukraine could be brought back from the brink, Pompeo said, "it's awful late."
