Title 42 — the controversial Covid-era policy that allows the federal government to quickly deport immigrants due to the health crisis — is coming to an end in less than 10 days. When it does, you can expect a massive [read: MASSIVE] surge of illegal immigration at the southern U.S. border.
The Biden administration is certainly expecting it:
The Biden administration is considering whether to send 1,500 active duty U.S. troops to the southern border in the coming days amid concerns that tens of thousands of migrants will surge into the country once Title 42 is lifted, sources tell Fox News.
Here's a reminder that well over 4 million illegal aliens, including at least 1.5 million who evaded border authorities, have surged into America since Joe Biden became president.
Citizens of the border states have been trying to get the government's attention on this crisis for years.
The troops will reportedly be drawn from "active duty Army units," and "would serve in mostly administrative and transport roles to free up law enforcement and Border Patrol."
Local law enforcement and Border Patrol officials will know the lay of the land better than troops getting there for the first time. Still, do you kinda get the feeling that the Biden administration probably isn't still taking this awful crisis all that seriously?
(Maybe two years of them actively encouraging said migration has made me paranoid.)
