Joe Biden, President of the United States is either just brazenly lying while standing behind the Presidential Seal, or he's a very, very confused old man.

Either way, this ain't good.

As Mark Hemingway points out, Biden is a known liar who makes up stories like this all the time.

I mean, these stories are getting more and more ridiculous.

Some are pointing out that Biden may be misremembering another event.

Biden did go to Israel six years later, as a senator, right before, but not during, the Yom Kippur war.

Even if this isn't just a straight lie, it's a mistake, and not a small one. It's truly embarrassing that the president could make this kind of mistake.
