Another day, another phenom athlete with no prior known medical issues suffered a cardiac arrest while playing their sport.
Yesterday, Bronny James, the 18-year-old son of Lebron James, suffered a cardiac arrest during a basketball workout at USC in California, where Bronny is going to attend school.
A James family spokesperson released a statement to TMZ. Bronny was in the middle of a workout with the Trojans, whom he committed to this spring.
"Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest," the statement read. "Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU. We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information.
"LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes."
Another coincidence, I guess.
One of the most exceptional athletes in the world, with exceptional genes, suffers a cardiac arrest at 18 years old.
18.
Hard to believe.
