Kicking off the weekend just wouldn't be the same without a horrific act of violence on a New York City subway.

The New York Post reported that a passenger was stabbed and bitten by an assailant wearing a ski mask Friday afternoon in a seemingly random altercation.

The 58-year-old victim was riding a Manhattan-bound L train near the Graham Avenue station in Williamsburg when he got into a heated fight with another rider, cops said.

The unhinged stranger then stabbed the man in the back of his shoulder and bit him on the top of his head, police said.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, authorities said.

The incident is yet another example of what has become an all-too-common danger of using public transportation in the Big Apple.

The one question that must have been on everyone's mind:

Where was Daniel Penny when you needed him?
