I'm not sure what is worse.

According to the Vancouver Sun, the Central Okanagan Search and Rescue crew were training in the Boulderfields region of British Colombia when campers flagged them down and said they heard screaming in the woods as if someone was in distress.

The Search and Rescue team switched out of training mode and into full-fledged rescue mode, mobilizing its drone team and two Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers.

As they searched the woods, they too heard the sounds of someone screaming.

But couldn't make out what was being said.

They were about ready to mobilize more teams, when one of the mounties found the source: a camper belting out Nickelback as loud as he could.

The camper was ‘singing his heart out to the trees, blissfully unaware that the acoustics of the Boulderfields had turned his tent-side concert into an accidental distress signal,' according to the team.

Because apparently his singing was really, really bad — like even worse than an actual Nickelback song.

‘He wasn't in trouble," said search manager Duane Tresnich. "Unless you count his singing.'

The team thanked the hikers who called it in, adding that while Thursday evening's incident turned out to be nothing more than a camper in need of singing lessons, ‘it could have been serious.'

Personally, I think the guy was just trying to scare off the bears.

Everyone knows bears hate Nickelback.
