Trump just opened up his biggest lead yet on Biden, according to CBS polling and it's because everyone knows they were better off 4 years ago under Trump than they are now under Biden.

(Donald Trump) leads President Biden by four points nationally, his largest lead to date. Here's why:

Voters recall the economy under Trump more fondly than they rate the economy now.

While neither gets great marks, voters today look back on Trump's presidency with relatively better retrospective ratings than they'd rate Joe Biden's presidency so far.

Now imagine if those voters weren't lied to for 4 years under Trump about how everything was awful and how Trump was the devil. Without the TDS from the media, people would have an even better view of the Trump years.

But, even with the dark and scary Trump filter on, people see just how good they used to have it.

Some of Mr. Biden's polling deficits come from his own Democratic base being relatively more critical of him. Twice as many Democrats call Biden's presidency fair or poor than Republicans describe Trump's presidency that way.

More voters think Trump "fights for people like them" than think Biden does.

This is undoubtedly where Trump's biggest loyal following comes from. They think that he is fighting for them. No one thinks Biden is fighting for anyone but himself.

People also are more likely to think Trump has a vision for the country. I mean, that's what Make America Great Again and America First is supposed to be all about.

Voters don't think Biden has a plan.

In a fair election (emphasis on fair), Biden would be up the creek without a paddle.
