Courage doesn't mean you have no fear: It means you do what needs to be done in spite of that fear.
The 72-year-old perp killed 11 people during Asian Lunar New Year celebrations at a dance hall in Monterey Park, California.
He then left and headed to a second dance hall in Alhambra, where he was gonna light up another party and kill a bunch more people.
Before he could, Brandon Tsay intercepted him and stopped him. After being forced to leave, the perp drove 30 miles away before getting stopped by police in the nearby city of Torrence. Before police could arrest him, he shot and killed himself with another weapon.
Here's what Brandon had to say in an interview:
I realized I needed to get the weapon away from him – I needed to take this weapon, disarm him, or else everyone else would have died.
