The Philadelphia Zoo ushered in the month of October with a special treat for their resident hippopotamuses and I think it's safe to say they were ready for pumpkin spice season.

Watch those hippos go!

The video is equal parts cute, fascinating, and terrifying - just check out the size of those chompers!

Not to mention the fact that that first hippo took a pumpkin stem directly to the roof of its mouth and didn't bat an eyelash. Humans can't even eat a bowl of Captain Crunch without some mouth damage. (Sidenote: do hippos even have eyelashes?)

If you need more pumpkin/zoo adorableness, here ya go:

Also watching that made me a little bit hungry, though I prefer to take my pumpkins with a bit more spice and a lot less stem. Or just hold the pumpkin all together and bring me a bowl of crunchy cereal... I'm not picky.
