I wish this were satire.
Translation: "Stopping violent crime is racist."
Okay, so lemme explain this as simply as I can.
Mayor Brandon is a commie. If two people have different outcomes in their lives, commies believe that's due to oppression. If Person A has a nice house and a good job, but Person B does not, that's due to "inequities" that are oppressing Person B. It's why the Soviets killed all the Kulaks. In America, the commies have swapped the "aristocrats vs. peasants" schtick for "whites vs. blacks" or "straights vs. gays" and a hundred other dumb categories.
In Chicago, a huge percentage of violent crimes are committed by black people.
Here's a Yale study with some stats. Summarizing that study is left-wing Wikipedia:
Non-fatal gunshot victims in Chicago had an overall rate of occurrence of 46.5 per 100,000 from 2006 to 2012, with a demographic breakdown of 1.62 per 100,000 for whites; 28.72 for Hispanics, and 112.83 for blacks.
Less than 2 white Chicagoans out of every 100,000 will have a non-fatal shooting wound (the chances of dying from one are even lower). Meanwhile, you can expect 28 Hispanics and 112 blacks in Chicago to get shot with non-fatal injuries.
And for those who did not survive, the University of Chicago notes that in 2021,
the homicide rate for Black residents was 40x that for white residents.
40 TIMES!!!
BUT IT ISN'T WHITE PEOPLE SHOOTING THE BLACK PEOPLE.

So Mayor Brandon wants us to believe that the tech identifying active shooters is racist because it keeps identifying black people as the shooters a large percentage of the time ... when black people are the shooters a large percentage of the time.
The media does stuff like this too. USA Today looked at a report showing 56% of black and Hispanic Chicagoans had watched someone get shot by the age of 40, which is INSANE, compared to 26% of white Chicagoans (which is still INSANE).
Instead of connecting the dots and noting that most crime is intraracial (blacks tend to shoot blacks, Hispanics tend to shoot Hispanics, etc.), USA Today and the rest of the commie media put it through the commie lens of oppression and came out with this headline:
Wherever you see the word "disparity," the media wants you to think about racism. The subtle idea is that this is the fault of white people cuz SLAVERY, and Grace there successfully completed her struggle session with this article.
Because some white Americans were racist in the past, black boys now execute each other with Glock switches that turn their pistols full-auto. But it's racist to acknowledge this.
MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!
I dunno about the effectiveness of this tech, but it must be somewhat of a good investment if the mayor wants to keep it through September to protect the high-profile Party members at the Democratic National Convention!
(You just can't make it up.)
Anyway, since you can't erase people's sinful nature by turning a blind eye, it means all the crime will still happen and lots more people will die ... but at least we won't be racist?
Oh - and this is important - since the majority of the crime committed by black people is against other black people, more black people specifically will die as a result.
Talk about a racist policy.
