Valentine's Day can be hard when you don't have someone special, but it's even harder when that special someone dumps you on or around the holiday.

Research has shown that around one in 14 U.S. adults have broken up with somebody on Valentine's Day. That's 7% of people. Another 6% said they have broken up just after Valentine's Day (which is how February 21st has come to be known as National Break Up day).

The fact that there are people willing to wait until after they get their Valentine's Day‘s gifts to dump their special someone says a lot about our culture ...

... But not nearly as much as the fact that there are so many companies running specials celebrating the break-up.

But the big problem with all these vengeance promos is that they're geared toward an angry partner. What if you're on the receiving end of being dumped, and you don't want vengeance on your lost love - you just want a little comfort?
