Every year, USA Today holds an election, not for who will lead our nation, but for who will expand our waistlines. The results are published in their 10 best-ranked fast food restaurants list.
For the last nine years straight, Chick-Fil-A has dominated that list.
But this year, the Lord's chicken fell short. In 2024, Chick-Fil-A ranked 3rd in the nation.
This isn't about sales, mind you; they're still dominating in sales. It's all about the votes.
So, who beat out Chick-Fil-A?
In the number two spot, that other uniquely American fried chicken franchise:
KFC
Fair enough, who doesn't love Colonel Sanders secret blend of 11 herbs and spices?
But number one is a real kicker:
Del Taco
How in the world did a franchise with locations in only 18 states beat out two nationwide restaurants as America's favorite?
I'm sorry; I just don't buy it!
(And not just because there are no Del Tacos in Texas, and I can't).
What, were people voting by mail? Ballot harvesting? Leaning on the judges to certify fake counts? Where are the chain of custody receipts for the ballots?
Was this "best fast food in America" election being run by the electronic voting company that can never be named?
I demand a recount!
