Everyone in America thought it was weird when Trump suddenly became pro-foreign workers over American workers.
But maybe this news from the AP helps explain his sudden shift of perspective.
China has created what they are calling the K-visa to attract the skilled foreign labor that Trump's $100,000 H-1B visa fee would turn away.
‘Beijing perceives the tightening of immigration policies in the U.S. as an opportunity to position itself globally as welcoming foreign talent and investment more broadly,' said Barbara Kelemen, associate director and head of Asia at security intelligence firm Dragonfly.
They say that they're hoping the talent that would've gotten H1-B visas in the U.S. will choose China instead.
And if there's anything Trump hates most, it's the feeling that China is getting one over on him.
However, Trump might consider calling their bluff on this one.
China's unemployment rate for 18-24 year olds is sitting at a whopping 18%, the Chinese people are better educated than most countries, and Chinese citizens don't dare ask for high wages.
Does anyone really believe China is doing anything more than baiting Trump into making a disastrous decision for America here?
