China’s president Xi Jinping says China has given Hong Kong true democracy

I've often wondered what exactly the American Marxists are talking about when they reference "our democracy," since they seem so anti-democracy in its classical sense, but President Xi's comments at a 25th anniversary of the city's handover from Britain help make sense of the term.

"After reuniting with the motherland, Hong Kong's people became the masters of their own city," he said. "Hong Kong's true democracy started from here."

And if we extrapolate from real-world events, we can tell that "democracy" to a Marxist means...

Violently putting down all dissent:

Arresting, exiling, and executing political rivals:

Shutting down all pro-democracy media:

Gaslighting out of existence all historical reference to a time when democracy existed:

Locking all citizens in their homes for months on end with little to no food.

Do you see it? Democracy!

I can't help but see a lot of similarities in the Marxist-leaning Democrats maneuvers over the last two years, and if this is what their democracy looks like, the next time I hear the phrase "threatening our very democracy," I may applaud.

Their democracy is anything but.
