Church Is Essential! John MacArthur’s Grace Community Church Gets Big Money In Settlement With LA County Over Lockdown Dispute
· Sep 1, 2021 · NottheBee.com

In VERY exciting and good news on Tuesday, Grace Community Church, which is pastored by John MacArthur, won a HUGE settlement against Los Angeles County. The county tried to prevent John MacArthur and Grace Community from having church services during the pandemic, claiming them to be "non-essential" services.

The county has agreed to pay $800,000 to Grace Community Church and drop all charges.

Jenna Ellis, the attorney representing Grace Community Church, tweeted out this statement about what she calls a "total win."

The First Amendment rights of John MacArthur and Grace Community Church were vindicated when the Los Angeles Board of Supervisors deciding they would rather settle than battle the case in court.

Phil Johnson, Executive Director of Grace To You, a ministry of Grace Community Church, gave more details of the victory against LA County.

This is definitely a victory worth celebrating. After long fought battles, threats of police force, threats of shutting down power and water, and taking away parking lots used by the church, LA has finally backed down and paid out for their persecution of Grace Community Church.

Johnny Mac made headlines, being one of the few major evangelical pastors to boldly proclaim that Church is essential and that his church would meet during the pandemic, regardless of government restrictions.

You may remember MacArthur hilariously pointing out the hypocrisy of not allowing churches to meet while allowing violent BLM riots to take place during the summer of 2020.

During the chaos of 2020 and 2021, John MacArthur was one of the few conservative evangelical leaders to actually lead. One of the few who would boldly flaunt government authority, because he knew he served a higher authority.

And guess what? MacArthur was proven right again. This settlement is only further evidence that godly boldness will be rewarded.
