Nope, this isn't The Babylon Bee. A committee in the U.S. House of Representatives actually held a vote on a bill that would stop funding to the Taliban ... because, well, we're currently funding the Taliban.
Republican political pundits are referring to it as a "big win," because apparently stopping the $40 MILLION A WEEK that's currently going to FREAKING TALIBAN JIHADIS is a win - you know, compared to NEVER HAVING GIVEN MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO ISLAMIST TERRORISTS.
Why was this necessary? How did we get to this point? How is all of this not satire? How did it take a YEAR to get this bill out of committee??
Goodness, what an absolutely wild time to be alive.
But I would be remiss if I didn't note that the votes on amendments to the bill were ALONG PARTY LINES - as Rep. Burchett noted, the reason to propose such revisions to the bill were to "gut" it.
Yes, I understand that this is business as usual in Washington.
One party throws a bunch of proposals forward under a name like "Save the Puppies," and then when the other party votes against the proposal because there's a bunch of other random stuff in there, the first party goes in front of the cameras to lament how their opponents voted against saving puppies. In this case, I'm sure the Dems are putting up a stink about this money being crucial aid for the Afghani people.
But if we had an honest media, they'd be asking those Dems how they know this money isn't going to ACTUAL TERRORISTS WHO BLEW UP THE WORLD TRADE CENTERS AND KICKED OFF A GLOBAL WAR.
Here's a bit more context on where your tax money is going from former Navy SEAL Shawn Ryan:

Anyway, I'll be over here reading my Bible to regain some sanity after writing this article.
