To be fair, Congress has been asleep at the wheel for half a century.
Dingell, who represents a district centered around Ann Arbor, Michigan, is 71 years old and has been in office for a decade.
The session in question seemed to be taking place late Tuesday night. Since the people leading our nation are getting older and older by the year, perhaps we need to wrap up all congressional duties by 3 p.m. so they can watch Matlock and head to bed?
I probably would have fallen asleep too if I had spent several minutes on lame talking points that are straight out of 2005:
