When I was six I scaled my parents' dresser to get at the little Snickers candy bars in the jar up there. And I thought I was so daring.
Here, meanwhile, is Alice Galy:
Discussing her recent ascent of Wyoming's famed Devils tower, Alice Galy, 6, was matter-of-fact.
"It wasn't scary for me," she told Cowboy State Daily early Thursday.
Okay, she's just mocking us at this point.
Alice and her brother Tristan climbed to the top of the towering summit earlier this month.
Tristan, you should know, is nine. On any other day a nine-year-old boy climbing Devils Tower would be the most impressive thing you'd heard of, except when his six-year-old sister is climbing up with him.
Devils Tower is no picnic. It has a 5.9 difficulty rating. It's not easy. Even adults struggle with it. This is not a normal Sunday hike.
But evidently it was no big deal for Alice. So nonchalant was she that she made a handstand at the bottom of the summit...
...and then vowed to do another at the top. Which she did.
Here's some good footage of the expedition:
The young lady, after pulling off an accomplishment most of us wouldn't ever really consider doing, is nevertheless still humble about it:
Alice said the accomplishment made her feel "good" but "not that proud."
