NBC is being accused of altering photos of Lia Thomas (formerly William Thomas) during a segment on the TODAY show where hosts praised the grown man for absolutely destroying his female competitors.

Watch the segment here and see if you can spot the difference between reality and the world of Lia Thomas:

Yeah, I'm really having a hard time buying any explanations for the unnaturally smooth skin Lia has in those pictures. Come to think of it, actual women do not have skin that looks like that. The side-by-side images look like an expose on unrealistic beauty standards, minus the beauty.

Oh wait, wrong photo, this is the side-by-side of Wil"lia"m:

In the original photo, you can obviously see marks from the swim goggles, blemishes, and wrinkles, as well as a sharper background (oh, and an Adam's apple).

I can't say for sure whether the photo was airbrushed, if it had a blurred filter on it, or if it was just poor (yet suspiciously smooth) image quality, but what I can say for sure is that that is not the jawline of a 22-year-old woman.

It turns out smooth skin doesn't make you any more of a woman than changing your name does!
