The Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday that Google cofounder Sergey Brin had denounced his friendship with Elon Musk after the later had slept with his ex-wife last year before the couple had divorced.
The talking heads immediately picked up on the story, sending it far and wide. You probably heard of it casually mentioned somewhere on an app or a show โ just a little brain worm meant to prime you to think about Elon in a certain way.
What you probably didn't see was the update from the WSJ that effectively neutered the entire piece.
Here's what Elon had to say:

Elon also offered this thought on the media:
The man has certainly had a lot of ups and downs with marriages and relationships. His many children with multiple women and his multiple divorces isn't exactly what you would call a representative model of the healthy family and Christian ethic.
But as we sift fact from fiction, it's important to note that Elon did predict stories like this in May:

Stay on your toes out there. The fact-checking class is out to advance a narrative, and truth is ever harder to discern.
