Did you know that when a fan catches a foul ball at the Savanah Bananas game it counts as an out?

If you've never heard of the Savannah Bananas, you're totally missing out on some of the wildest baseball imaginable. They're like the Harlem Globetrotters of baseball and if you ever have a chance to see them I'd highly suggest it (though it's really hard to find tickets).

Here's some of the team's highlights from 2022 just to give you an idea of what they're about.

In Banana Ball there's absolutely no bunting, you can steal first base, and when you get walked you actually sprint around the bases until every player on defense has touched the ball (at which point they can get you out).

Personally, I find this style of play even more entertaining than the Globetrotters, since baseball sometimes needs that extra umph, while basketball can go without it — but that's an argument for another day.

What I came here to show you is Banana Ball Rule #8: If a fan catches a foul ball, it's an out — because it's one of the coolest rules I've ever heard of.

Check out how the Bananas game ended on Tuesday night against rival the Party Animals. Two outs, top of 9, the final out of the game if the Bananas can make it happen.

And it's in the books, folks!

That fan just made the play of the game!

What a way to end it!
