Disney Moves More Than 2,000 Jobs OUT Of California And TO Florida Citing Florida's Pro-Business Policies

You hate to see it. Another major corporation moving thousands of jobs away from California and its exorbitant taxes and regulations to sunny Florida.

This time it is none other than Disney that has chosen to move more than 2,000 jobs out of California and head east to the sunshine state.

Josh D'Amaro, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products (DPEP) Division, announced in a letter to employees that the Southern California based company would be moving almost every employee in DPEP who doesn't work directly with the Disneyland Park out of California and to a new campus outside of Orlando, Florida.

Deadline reported last week that the announced change was largely due to Florida being a more pro-business environment.

From the letter:

This new project will create a dynamic environment to support our expanding business – a brand-new regional campus which will be built in the vibrant Lake Nona community of Orlando, Florida...

In addition to Florida's business-friendly climate, this new regional campus gives us the opportunity to consolidate our teams and be more collaborative and impactful both from a creative and operational standpoint.

Well, would you look at that?

Ron DeSantis, once again, proves himself as he and his policies on business and Covid-19 bring more business to the state of Florida.

It appears that when a state is managed properly and implements pro-business policies it will attract more business. Who could have imagined that?

I guess after Disney was forced to lay off more than 32,000 employees last year, due to government-imposed Covid-19 restrictions, the corporate bosses have decided to wise up and move their business to a safer and more stable environment.

Apparently, the inconsistent and illogical on-again-off-again Covid restrictions made by Gavin Newsom and others in California has finally forced the hand of this particular division of Disney.

They may be woke lefties, but we all know money talks. Florida under the leadership of Ron DeSantis has made these leftwing corporate leaders an offer they can't refuse.
