The Left is a parody with about three preloaded responses to anything they don't like.
Either something is "racist" or it's "LGBT-phobic" or it's "climate injustice", and the only solution is to immediately give the politicians more power.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren tried to invoke the latter climate issue this week when arguing that cryptocurrency should be banned:

Here she was on TV doubling down on the lunacy:
Three thoughts:
- I love that Dogecoin is now so prolific that a U.S. Senator mentions it in an interview. To the mooooon!
- Her statement that it's "not a good way to buy and sell things" translates to "the wrong people are getting rich." After all, how are millionaire politicians supposed to buy a new vacation home when people and companies don't have to suck up to federal regulators like her?
- Notice how she ties "environmental disaster" to more regulations because climate is the new excuse to grab power.

But personally, if we're talking about a waste of energy, I think the giant media complex that exists to prop up lefties like Warren should be the first to go!
After all, it must require far more energy to power the newsrooms and streaming platforms that broadcast the messages of power-hungry socialists into homes around the world.
I'd be up for scrapping cryptos like Bitcoin the second they turn off the lights!
