Eric Clapton Takes Stand Against Vaccine Passports, Won't Play Shows Where Proof Of Vaccination Is Required

Rock and roll!

Eric Clapton is taking a stand against the invasive and totalitarian plans put forward by Boris Johnson and the British government, as well as private companies that insist on invading the privacy of citizens.

On the 19th of July, Boris Johnson announced that, in the UK, vaccine passes would be required to enter clubs and event venues throughout the country. This did not sit well with the aging rocker.

Clapton has been vocal in his displeasure with lockdowns in Britain, even releasing an anti-lockdown protest song with Van Morrison several months ago.

Here is the statement made by the "Layla" singer:

Following the PM's announcement on Monday the 19th of July 2021 I feel honour bound to make an announcement of my own: I wish to say that I will not perform on any stage where there is a discriminated audience present. Unless there is provision made for all people to attend, I reserve the right to cancel the show.

The elderly rocker felt "honour bound" to come out against this authoritarian measure in the UK, and indicated that he has the absolute right to cancel any show where the audience is "discriminated" against and coerced into taking a not-yet-approved vaccine.

It should be no surprise that the singer of the song "Cocaine" doesn't have the slightest concern about what people put in their bodies.

If the government in the UK is going to discriminate against people based on their vaccination status then Clapton will treat health discrimination like any other discrimination and stand against it.

Good for him.

Rock on, Clapton. Rock on.
