Even very liberal Bill Maher is agreeing with Florida's new law that bars teachers from discussing sexual issues with 5-year-old students

Most sensible people have recognized that the Florida law banning teachers from talking about sex with kindergarteners is, you know, perfectly okay. Like, it's a fine law. It should be on the books in every state.

Most liberals, for some creepy reason, hate this law—but famously taciturn Bill Maher is not among them:

Real Time" host Bill Maher pushed back at the liberal "Don't Say Gay" uproar of a Florida education reform bill that's been condemned by Democrats and the media.

"I guess it's a reaction to Republicans who feel that there's too much talk in lower grades -- I think it's only, they're talking about kindergarten to third grade – so we're talking about very young kids who, you know, as always with this stuff, you know, it's not like there's no kernel of truth in that maybe kids that young shouldn't be thinking about sex at all."

That's a roundabout way of Maher telling his progressive friends:

It's true that Maher himself is known for his dissent from some areas of liberal orthodoxy. But the Florida controversy is a lightning rod; left-wingers are being expected to fall in line on this, from the lowliest activist all the way up to the Disney CEO. If you're going to march in lockstep on any issue with the left, this appears to be one of them.

Good on Maher for having the backbone to point out the obvious about this law. It's an exceedingly rare trait on the left these days.
