OAKLAND IS A HOT MESS.
The city is losing fast food restaurants to crime and mass shootings are the norm:
And now the mayor is getting raided by the FBI and other alphabet agencies:
I'll breeze past the part where all our FBI agents now look like low-T soyboys because that would be mean, and instead get to the scoop:
A neighbor visiting from San Diego told ABC7 News that she was woken up by law enforcement banging on her door around 6 a.m.
The investigation is on Maiden Lane in the Oakland Hills.
ABC7 News insider Phil Matier says that according to a law enforcement source, the location is one of four homes in Oakland where warrants have been issued and served.
Mayor Thao, a Democrat (it's California, so, duh) reportedly owns all of these four homes, because of course.
An ABC7 News crew on scene said there were several unmarked vehicles at the house.
It remains unknown why the FBI was at the house. Mayor Thao was supposed to appear at an event Thursday morning at 10 a.m., but she has canceled.
This comes as recall organizers have called on Thao to resign as mayor. The recall effort has gotten enough signatures to appear on a ballot.
IMPORTANT: I take back my low-T comment.
This FBI agent on scene with the spare mags at his 9 o'clock looks like he knows his way around shooting someone's dog!
Here's an interview with the media on-scene:
I'll leave you with a few of Oakland's most recent hits:
