Female weightlifters respond to question about their transgender competitor with awkward silence
· Aug 6, 2021 · NottheBee.com

History was made in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics when the first openly transgender weightlifter competed in the women's weightlifting division.

This victory was short-lived when Laurel Hubbard, the 43-year-old biological male, absolutely failed to lift 120kg and then barely lifted the 125kg which led to him being disqualified.

The REAL women who won the gold, silver, and bronze medal were later asked about Hubbard during a press conference.

And their response was… awkward.

"There was a historic night here with Laurel Hubbard competing as the first openly transgender in an individual event… I was wondering what you felt about that and what you felt that took place in your sport," an Olympic reporter asked.

The gold-medal winner, China's Li Wenwen stayed cool. The silver medalist, Britain's Emily Campbell didn't dare move a muscle. And US's Sarah Robles, the bronze medalist, calmly sipped her water.

One Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi…

EIGHT. Eight Mississippi! It took eight Mississippis before Robles finally broke the awkward silence and simply said, "No, thank you."

If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all, I suppose?

Or maybe these female athletes who have worked tirelessly to win their place on that Olympic podium are fed up with their sport turning into woke nonsense. Just, maybe...
