The internet is nothing if not an endless source of petty division. That's why I was thrilled to discover an issue that, at least temporarily, seemed to unite people of all walks of life:
Home Owners Associations are just the worst.
It started with a screen shot posted to the popular Facebook group, Sad Sales, Stolen Goods, and Sketchy Services. As the name indicates, the group is dedicated to sharing and laughing at unique listing on local marketplaces (or their interesting backstories). This particular listing was not particularly unique. In fact, it was all-too familiar:
That's right. Somebody spent a day building a beautiful shed for their backyard, and somehow their busybody HOA managed to spot it, and forced them to get rid of it.
Normally, a post like this would instantly slip into political debates. Considering HOA's are almost everywhere, I expected at least someone to jump in to defend them. Instead, there was endless support, understanding, empathy:

Several people shared horror stories of their own fascist HOA experiences:
Well that's [flowerbed]ing frustrating!
…
But I'm sure it was totally worth the monthly fee just so that you could be micromanaged at every turn.
…
One guess where that letter went.
…
Boxes aren't allowed for moving in? Might as well not allow water for sprinkling or cars for driving...
…
...Oh.
…
If I were them, I'd give them a reason to start worrying about sidewalk chalk:
…
A few even offered some "helpful" advice:

…
Yes, all in all, it was a brief glimmer of peace and unity.
At least, until someone decided to be racist (or is it called "anti-racist" now?):
Oh well. It was nice while it lasted.
