After 13 United States Service Members were killed in Afghanistan last month, 13 American flags and one Marine Corp flag were put up on a Freeway in California as a memorial.
Not long after, people noticed the flags were ripped apart and vandalized.
The Riverside Police Department have confirmed "it's obvious the flags were intentionally damaged" in a Facebook post.
The memorial was displayed on the fence of the Ivy Street overpass about the 91 Freeway in Riverside.
The vandalized flags were taken down with the help of two citizens and have since been replaced.
The original flags were put up by a Riverside resident and a family came to replace them after they initial ones were ruined, and God bless them.
Even in California, for every cop hating, anti-American radical out there, there is a group of patriots ready to do the right thing and show their respect.
Although this act was disgusting and beyond disrespectful, let's not forget why the flags are up in the first place. We are honoring the US Service Members who gave their life for this country and paid the ultimate price.
And don't forget there will always be someone proudly flying the flag, no matter how many times it's been torn down.
Tip for any radicals out there: Protest and troll all you want. But DO NOT TOUCH A MEMORIAL.
