A retired 6-year-old Argentine grand champion llama named Caesar (a.k.a the "No Drama Llama") was recently featured in a Washington Post article discussing his calming effects at protests around Portland. Caesar offers emotional-support hugs and "calming" effects to protestors and police, the article claims.
As if things couldn't get any stranger in Portland, right?
"When people meet Caesar, they tend to melt in his calm presence…Caesar brings calm and defuses tension within these extremely volatile situations because everyone loves him as much as he loves everyone," said his caretaker, Larry McCool.
So far this year, Caesar and McCool have attended 10 Black Lives Matter protests in Oregon, including five in Portland's protest epicenter, to offer support and a tranquil presence to protesters.
If it weren't for Caesar, who knows, maybe these protests would get out of control?
PS...it's very difficult to spell Caesar correctly 10 times in a row.
