The former CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch, Mike Jeffries, along with two of his associates, has been arrested on sex trafficking charges.
You're telling me the guy who made his male retail staff work shirtless is actually some sort of perv??
Sources told CNN the indictment includes over a dozen counts between 2008 and 2015. It claims A&F recruited aspiring male models for sex-themed parties, where the men were allegedly given drugs, alcohol, and Viagra to perform sex acts.
Jeffries was CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch from 1992 to 2014.
Jeffries' attorney, Brian Bieber, said they would make a statement once it is appropriate - after the Indictment is unsealed. He also said they won't be making that statement to the media but "plan to do so in the courthouse."
Jeffries and one associate are set to appear in federal court in Florida today, with the third in Wisconsin. They'll be arraigned in New York at a later date.
Last year, suspicion began to surround Jeffries after BBC investigated him and his partner, Matthew Smith, for using a middleman to recruit and exploit young men. Dozens of men sued Jeffries and Abercrombie & Fitch, accusing the former CEO of using his position to exploit and abuse them.
The company said it was "appalled" by the allegations and launched an independent investigation.
I mean, can anyone really be shocked and appalled by these allegations with words like this from A&F:
We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends.
Abercrombie struggled in the 2010s and lost favor with every brand's worst nightmare: Gen Zers.
In 2013, the company faced backlash after a petition with almost 80,000 signatures pushed for more inclusive t-shirt sizes. That same year, Abercrombie gave in and introduced plus-sizes in some clothing lines.
Soon after, Jeffries stepped down and retired in 2014.
Sadly, these arrests and allegations are not surprising. The swamp runs deep!
Abercrombie has a long history of provocative marketing aimed at young teens. We also can't forget all the celebrities โ notably Channing Tatum, Ashton Kutcher, Jennifer Lawrence, and Taylor Swift โ who used to model for the brand ... could any of them have known, seen, or even been involved in any of this?
Epstein, Cosby, Weinstein, Diddy, and now this beloved '90s teen fashion brand ... there's something deeply rotten in the culture.
Plus, just look at this guy. I know a creep when I see one!
