A former Iranian Muslim who became a believer in Christ is sharing his testimony in a video that has gone viral on Instagram and TikTok.
Ramin Parsa was born in Iran in 1986. He says he was taught to hate Jews from an early age.
In the school, everything was Islamic. In our textbooks, we had the caricatures of Israeli soldiers killing these Palestinian babies. And the babies crying... it was not real but they wanted to sow the seed of hatred in our hearts toward the Jews and Israel.
In another interview, Parsa describes what it was like growing up under Islam in Iran. He witnessed public executions of "infidels" at a young age. At age 16, he was kidnapped by the Islamic morality police and tortured.
Shaken and questioning his faith, he came upon a gospel message on a Christian television station, which started to change his heart.
Eventually, he prayed:
Jesus, if this is true, if you are truly the son of God, if you died for me on the cross - if you rose from the dead - I ask you to come into my life, show me. I want you to show me. I want you to prove it to me.
Parsa says something happened when he prayed that prayer.
The moment I said that - heat went through my hand. It went through all of my body. I started shaking and I started crying. I felt a love I had never felt before. I felt a peace I had never felt before. I felt as if a 500-lb weight was lifted off of my shoulders. I began to feel love, even for the people who beat me and tortured me.
Understand that this isn't just a lone story meant to tug on your heart strings. This is a mass movement you will never hear about in the news. I have seen pictures of Iranians traveling out-of-country to be be baptized by the hundreds at the same time. I am hearing from Middle Eastern prayer partners of secret conferences and mass gatherings of Iranian Christians that you'll never see on social media.
And it's been happening for years.
Parsa now leads a ministry called Hope of Israel, which provides food and shelter to those displaced by the Oct. 7 attacks in Israel.
If God can save this guy, there's hope for Iran. Let's pray for the growing church there!
