Oh no! Say it isn't so!
Michael Tait stepped down from the Newsboys back in January, and nobody knew why.
Until now.
The Roys Report released an investigative report accusing the singer of abusing alcohol, drugs, and men.

Two men stated that they were drinking alcohol with Tait and later woke to him fondling [them, I'll just say them]. One alleged Tait also offered him cocaine while on the Newsboys tour bus. The third told TRR that Tait gave him a back massage while skinny dipping and later invited him to share his king-size bed. There, Tait allegedly non-consensually massaged [him inappropriately].
And unfortunately, in an Instagram post, Tait admitted to everything.
As far as Christian celebrities who have fallen, you have to hand it to Tait for his words of repentance, and we can certainly pray it's for real.
The Newsboys were devastated at the news.
And while it sounds like they were genuinely deceived, their new album Worldwide Revival (the first without Tait) is feeling the pain of the fallout, as Christian radio stations across the country have swiftly pulled all Newsboys and DC Talk songs from rotation.
There's probably no way to fully recover from this sort of thing in this lifetime, but there is always eternal hope for the truly repentant.
