Car thefts are a MAJOR problem in gang-infested US cities.
We've covered the Kia Boys in Milwaukee, who specialize in stealing Kias and Hyundais, and similar street gangs, stealing Kias, are in other major US cities including Baltimore.
And Baltimore has finally decided to do something about it:
The city of Baltimore has filed a federal lawsuit against car manufacturers Kia and Hyundai, joining a number of cities who say the companies created a public nuisance by making cars that can be easily stolen.
"Hyundai and Kia's decision to put cost savings and profits over public safety has had significant consequences for Baltimore and its residents, as it has in other cities," the lawsuit says.
Car thefts in the city have nearly doubled this year compared to the same time last year, part of a nationwide trend after videos showing how to easily steal the vehicles racked up millions of views on TikTok.
Imagine that. They're going after the car companies instead of the perps!
Yeah, sure, they could lock up the people who are doing the stealing, but that would probably be "inequitable" and promote "harmful stereotypes."
Instead, they want to bring action against these Asian car manufacturers because that makes total sense.
Baltimore is one of the worst cities with crime in the entire country. The face-melting mental gymnastics here are insane.
