Marvel villain Gavin Newsom is calling for a 28th constitutional amendment to limit gun ownership in America

Just in case you forgot that Gavin Newsom is the absolute worst, the governor of California has decided to go full crazy.

This time, he's aiming directly for the 2nd Amendment by pushing a 28th Amendment that would take away the individual's right to bear arms.

"This is a mechanism to address that despair," Newsom said in an interview with POLITICO ahead of his announcement, which came from his Campaign for Democracy PAC. "We're sick of being on the defense and throwing up our hands. We want to go on the offense and be for something and build a movement that's bottom up, not top down."

So, he's going to aggressively come and take your guns.

Note to Newsom, it's never a good idea to be the aggressor against the side that's well-armed.

The Democratic governor's proposal would raise the federal minimum age to buy a firearm to 21 from 18; mandate universal background checks; institute a "reasonable" waiting period for all gun purchases and ban assault rifles nationally.

Raising the age for gun ownership is, obviously, an attempt to disarm adults who are legally adults in almost every other way. Then the really important part of this is, of course, the "assault rifle" ban which would effectively just ban any guns that Democrats find sca-wy.

Since "assault rifle" is a made-up term with no legal definition, this would give the government the right to take up any gun they deemed unfit for civilians.

Here's Newsom explaining his radical proposal:

This is a proposal, again, from the Democrats' favorite son. If Joe Biden weren't in the way, Newsom would be the most logical choice for next Dem presidential candidate. Heck, that possibility is not distant at all.

Fortunately, passing a constitutional amendment is a very tall task requiring 38 states to sign on. Remember, more than half of US states have constitutional carry now.

Newsom said even if Congress voted to enact some of the restrictions he's pushing, which itself is inconceivable based on recent history, the courts are acting as another seemingly impenetrable barrier for new reforms. "They're literally throwing out all of the progress many of us have made in these blue states," he said.

Oh boo-hoo! The courts are defending and correctly applying the Constitution!

They can't even grab the guns when a majority want it!

At least the constitution is still in effect in one area.

But Newsom's move makes one thing clear. They're coming for your guns and they are not going to take no for an answer.

Stay frosty.
