On Tuesday, Gavin Newsom signed a bill to outlaw AI deepfakes in California that are made with the purpose of deceiving voters.

(It's anybody's guess what exactly that means, which is the point.) 👇

The Babylon Bee (with its office in California, by the way) decided to put together an election ad with Newsom's voice to test the new law's exception for satire.

And it is perfect.

As of early Thursday morning, The Bee is still about 30,000 likes away from ratio-ing Governor Newsom on X:
