Here's the Governor of California defending gay "marriage" in California, starting when he, as Mayor of San Francisco, starting performing the ceremonies more than a decade before Obergefell.
20 years of gay weddings, thanks largely to Gavin Newsom's violation of the law.
(I guess democracy isn't the most important value for Democrats?)
Of course, Newsom is ignoring all of the cultural rot that has set in since he began this cultural revolution two decades ago.
And as far as Newson's totally believable "heartwarming" story about the little girl goes...
Affirmation from children is not a reason to destroy the building blocks of society.
