The story is incredible: Mt. Everest climbing guide Gelje Sherpa was leading a private client to the top of the gigantic and dangerous mountain when he spotted a dude who was clearly dying only about 500 yards from the summit.
They were almost to the top. This high altitude, low-oxygen, brutally cold final stretch near the summit is known as the "death zone."
So what does our man do? He wrapped the dying man in his sleeping bag, gave him oxygen, strapped him to his back, and hiked him SIX HOURS down the hill to safety:
That, ladies and gents, is one tough ruck, and one tough dude.
So far this year, 12 people have died attempting to climb Everest, and 5 people are considered missing.
