Germany is banning the unvaxxed from all but the most essential stores and here I thought they learned something from the 20th century

Not so long ago, Germany was held up by the lockdown loonies as a paragon of pandemic management and a model country in the fight against COVID.

This week, they're planning to lock down about 25,000,000 of their citizens:

Germany is expected to impose restrictions on the unvaccinated on Thursday as it seeks to break a dramatic surge in daily coronavirus infections exacerbated by the discovery of the Omicron strain.

Outgoing Chancellor Angela Merkel and her successor, Olaf Scholz will discuss with leaders of Germany's 16 states restricting the unvaccinated from access to all but the most essential businesses, such as grocery stores, pharmacies and bakeries.

Eager to avoid lockdowns that could derail a fragile recovery of Europe's biggest economy, they are expected to keep businesses open to the almost 69% of the population that is fully vaccinated as well as those who have recovered from the coronavirus.

Hmm seems like Germany is becoming a quasi-dictatorship in which tens of millions of citizens will be more or less confined to their homes! At least the vaccinated don't spread the virus, natural immunity isn't a thing, and Covid is way more deadly than the loss of liberty... right?

The only way to enforce such a two-tiered society, however, is to form a formal brigade of loyalists (maybe called something trendy like "brownshirts") who will snitch on and intimidate their neighbors.

You'll also need a very large "Protection Squadron" of sorts in the police to check everyone's papers. Let's see, when translated into German, that would be "Schutzstaffel." Maybe they could shorten that to something catchy, like "SS."

Good thing we've never seen this before and Germany learned from history over the last 100 years!
