Mauricio Henao was sitting in the driver's seat of his car when his girlfriend called. He ran back inside his house, and that's when he heard a crash outside.
A rockslide had dropped a giant boulder that totaled his car. If not for the call, Henao believes he would have been crushed.
Oof! Talk about rock and roll!
If not for the call, Henao believes he would have been crushed.
He said,
I was in the driver's seat, walked out, got a call, ran back inside, came out and the car was just totaled.
Nick Kennedy, another local resident whose SUV was also damaged by the rockslide while parked in his driveway.
"A whole bunch of rocks came down, but they came from here and came across the street. I'm kind of glad my car was there. I don't know if [the rocks] would have gone through the wall of the house and nailed me because my desk is right on the other side of that wall."
The rockslide occurred because of another huge overnight storm that hit Southern California.
