Florida Governor Ron DeSantis may have bowed out of the race for president, but he keeps racking up the wins against the radical left.
Thanks to a new Florida law, public schools will soon have chaplains available for students to talk to, instead of just social workers and guidance counselors (aka the clergy of the woke religion).
The only requirements for a chaplain to participate would be passing a background check and having their name and religious affiliation listed on the school website. The chaplains would "provide support, services, and programs to students as assigned by the district school board."
The program is voluntary.
DeSantis said,
No one's being forced to do anything, but to exclude religious groups from campus, that is discrimination. You're basically saying that God has no place. That's wrong.
Opponents say that DeSantis is crossing the separation of church and state boundary.
But chaplains serve in a lot of government roles; for example, with the police and in the military. The Florida legislature also has a chaplain of the day when it's in session.
Florida joins 12 other state to introduce chaplains to schools.
Texas was the first in 2023.
