Update: Elon says the IP addresses in the attack originated in (key word there) in Ukraine.

Original story:

Good job, dweebs. You made us all touch grass for a few hours instead of staring at our screens.

"Dark Storm"

Goodness. What a bunch of balloonheads.

More from Newsweek:

Who is Dark Storm Team?

The hacking group Dark Storm Team has claimed responsibility for today's hack on X, formerly Twitter.

The group is known for its sophisticated cyber warfare attacks and successful hacks of high-security systems.

According to Orange Cyberdefense, the group was formed in 2023 and has a pro-Palestinian focus.

Last month, the group vowed in a post to unleash a wave of cyberattacks on the government websites of NATO countries, Israel, and nations supporting Israel.

"We've gotta take down a social media platform for Hamas!"

Like I said ... balloonheads.

Elon Musk, who owns X, said this ongoing attack is very large, signifying potential backing from a hostile nation.

Serial leftwing attention seeker Ed Krassenstein claimed he was chatting with the Dark Storm (seriously that name makes me laugh every time) and said their next target was a bank in Africa.

A thought:

We'll update you when we know more.
