Halloween decoration in California prompts numerous calls to fire department.

A family in California is getting mixed reviews over their hyper-realistic "Pirates of the Caribbean" themed Halloween decorations.

The fake house fire in their display is so realistic that people keep calling 911. According to the KABC News article, Firefighters have been responding to the faux blaze repeatedly, after numerous calls reporting a structure fire.

Carmen and Travis Long, the homeowners, have told KABC that they have received hundreds of visitors nightly to see the house. Carmen Long said that with the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is glad to "bring a little bit of Halloween joy for everyone."

The Firefighters who originally responded to the residence were so impressed that they high-fived Travis Long and told him "great job," according to Carmen Long. The family now alerts authorities when they turn on the fire effect.

I love a good holiday decor theme, especially one that is well done, however, I might recommend not doing this in California right now. Maybe a little more rum and treasure and a little less fire?
